Ascend 3.0 Brings Change & New Opportunities
Valerie Huber, co-founder and long-standing president/CEO of Ascend, has been appointed by President Donald Trump to join the team at the US Department of Health & Human Services under Secretary Tom Price. In her new role, she will work to make optimal health possible for all Americans. Under Valerie’s able leadership, Ascend has grown to become a recognized leader in the Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) field. With a dedication to excellence in all areas, her leadership has advanced SRA education as a standard for the health and well-being of youth - a standard that Ascend will continue to support and grow so that all youth have the opportunity to thrive. We wish Valerie every success and thank her for her visionary leadership and outstanding service to Ascend.
We are pleased to announce Mary Anne Mosack as the new Executive Director of Ascend. Mary Anne has served on Ascend’s senior leadership team for the past ten years. As the national director of state initiatives and as a lead trainer in Ascend’s Sexual Risk Avoidance certification program, Mary Anne brings considerable expertise to the Sexual Risk Avoidance field. She is enthusiastic about the new opportunities to expand SRA education and has a desire to see SRA educators equipped to serve increasing numbers of the youth throughout the nation. We are confident that the ongoing mission of Ascend will grow and flourish as we enter a new day for Ascend leadership. The best is yet to come as Ascend continues to advocate for optimal health for all youth.
Ascend champions youth to make healthy decisions in relationships and life by promoting well being through a primary prevention strategy, and as a national membership and advocacy organization that serves, leads, represents and equips the Sexual Risk Avoidance field.
