ASAE Does It Again...
By Julie Kennon
Hodgson attended the ASAE Technology Conference in December, and if you’re an association with any technology interest or needs, this is an event not to be missed the next time it rolls around (which will be December 12-13, 2017). It was Hodgson’s eighth year exhibiting, and we can give the conference our enthusiastic stamp of approval.

Why? Karen Rosen and Glenn Batchler, Hodgson’s sales team, weighed in on what makes it so worthwhile. “The audience wanted to hear exactly what was being presented,” said Glenn. “Everyone attending was interested in web technology, an Association Management System (AMS), or a Learning Management System (LMS). Every booth and presentation offered information and products tailored to that audience. It was one-stop shopping, even for attendees researching multiple vendors or products.”

Karen, a veteran of the annual ASAE conferences, noted some interesting trends in the association world. “The growth in the association industry was obvious. We saw a lot of first-time attendees. This is a tech conference, so we always see a heavy IT presence, but marketing departments were strongly represented. Smart and efficient uses of technology are becoming increasingly critical in communicating with members, and encouraging them to engage with the association.”

We see the same trends in the business coming through our door. Associations can dramatically increase members, donations and engagement with a few technological tweaks. If you feel like taking a look at how technology can benefit your organization, contact us. We’d love to chat!

New Year, New You. New Website?
The beginning of a new year gives you a great excuse to give your website a checkup. We’re happy to do it for you, but there are steps you can take to make sure your online presence is as impactful and effective as it can be.

Here are a few things you should consider:
  • Does your content reference old dates or times?
  • Is your domain name about to expire?
  • Are you backing up your site regularly and reliably?
  • Check your design. Is the site easy to use, responsive, and displaying well on any browser?
  • Analyze your content. Do you want to highlight new products or services? Are your calls to action clear and strong? Are you too text/PDF/graphic heavy?
  • Do your links work? Check them regularly; broken links can end a web visit.
  • Are your forms and automated replies working perfectly?
  • Finally, how are your web stats and SEO reports? These numbers tell you whether or not your website is helping you reach your online goals.
If you diagnose an area that needs improvement, drop us a note. We’ll help you stay in tiptop shape.
