FORMER IRAN HOSTAGE, U.S. MARINE VETERAN TO SPEAK WITH COMMUNITY AND ATTEND SERVICES COMMEMORATING 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF PEARL HARBOR ATTACK

HONOLULU, HI (December 1, 2016) — Former Iran hostage and veteran Rodney “Rocky” Sickmann will attend the 75th Anniversary Commemoration of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Kilo Pier, at 7:45 a.m.

Sickmann will represent Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to families of military men and women who have fallen or been disabled while on active duty in the U.S. armed forces. Folds of Honor has partnered with Budweiser to bring the war veteran to the Pearl Harbor ceremony.

As a Marine, Sgt. Sickmann was a Prisoner of War in the Iran Hostage Crisis. In 1979, the marine sergeant was serving at the American Embassy in Tehran when militants entered the building and took hostages. Sickmann remained in captivity for 444 days, and was released on January 21, 1981.

After six years of honorable service, Sickmann was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. Sickmann went on to become the Director for Military & Industry Affairs at Anheuser-Busch, InBev. Following retirement, Sickmann continues as an ambassador for the Budweiser “Here’s to Heroes” campaign and other philanthropic efforts to support members of the military and their families, including Folds of Honor.

While in Hawaii, Sickmann will make himself available to the local press and media for speaking engagements and welcomes interview opportunities. For scheduling, please contact Lincoln Jacobe at lincoln@6pillarsmarketing.com or by phone at (808) 391-7441.
