Saint Paul's Knightsbridge

Dear friends,

THE BIG PUSH STARTS TODAY….

A week from today the St Paul's Foundation Carol Service takes place. For the religiously inclined there is, before then, the subtle beauty of Advent's season of waiting marked on Advent Sunday by its Solemn Mass at 11:00 and the sublime Advent Carol Service on Sunday evening at 6:00pm, but for many in this neighbourhood, it is Tuesday evening's Foundation Carol Service that marks the start of this season of goodwill and that gives us permission to begin to look towards the coming Christmas season.  It is, itself, a fundraiser - for St Paul's Church. And it is a madly extravagant evening of hospitality, music, candlelight - with celebrities (including the ever-charming Sir Terry Wogan, joined this year by the beguiling Allen Leach of Downton Abbey, the charismatic Kirsty Allsop of television-presenting fame, the legendary actor and musician Gary Kemp, and the hilarious Ronnie Ancona) to charm and drinks afterwards to cheer. A few tickets still remain, and it is time - today - for the big push to begin to make sure that the church is packed next Tuesday night. The event begins at 6.30pm on Tuesday 3rd December. I look forward to seeing you there! You can reserve tickets at  www.spkfoundation.org

As ever, with the assurance of my prayers,

Fr Alan Gyle

VISITORS & NEWCOMERS TO ST PAUL’S

If you are visiting us this Sunday morning, welcome! If you are here from another church, please let us know. All who are in good standing with their own churches of whatever tradition and who are regular communicants are welcome to receive the sacrament at the altar today. Afterwards, we hope you will join us for refreshments – and if you will, pause to fill in a Visitor’s Card: we will be glad to add you to our mailing list and to make contact if that is what you’d like.
And if you simply wish to visit and slip away, that is fine too!
