Hi Friends,

This week we saw a demonstration of ineffective and damaging leadership by the Chairman of the Clark County Republican Party (CCRP) in a critical meeting to elect new leaders. Members of the CCRP deserve exemplary behavior and outstanding professionalism from their Chairman. Unfortunately, our meeting on July 20th was led in a way that did not meet the standard of a professional organization with members committed to serious issues within our community.

As elected officials, we know that election processes and integrity are very serious issues that have a direct impact on the voter’s confidence in both the results of a race and credibility of new leadership. While the meeting was chaotic, it became clear that there are many within our community who do not know the facts surrounding longstanding policies and procedures for becoming a voting member of the CCRP and our election voting processes. This is a leadership and communication failure.

Additionally, the decision to remove Jesse Law from election eligibility for CCRP Chairmanship should require an early public disclosure of clear and irrefutable evidence to support the justification of these decisions and actions. This did not occur. The execution of the July 20th meeting has caused an erosion of trust for many members and prospective members of the CCRP and could cause harm to the reputation of the organization within our community and state. While we appreciate the time and commitment David Sajdak has given to the CCRP, these leadership failures have caused severe damage to the process and credibility of these pending elections and those who will be tasked with servings as leaders in the future.

As a result, we are calling for his immediate resignation in order to allow for a more orderly process to be led as we complete the election and transition to newly elected leaders to the Clark County Republican Party.

Thank you,

-Senator Carrie Buck and University Regent Byron Brooks
