Dr. Desai is M.D. (PSM) and has served as Professor and HOD Community Medicine Dept. at Govt. Medical College, Surat. She is currently the Honorary Technical Director of the Urban Health and Climate Resilience Center of Excellence (UHCRCE), Surat.
She has published over 100 research papers and was engaged with several state level projects on public health, climate and health resilience. She has actively contributed to Heat and Health Action Plan for city of Surat.
