Giant Robot Launch!
For those who read Giant Robot magazine, Launch! was the opener for each issue. I think I wrote almost all of them, so here it is again.

This week seems like a time when everyone is sort of thinking about the end of summer and what's coming next. We've been seeing old friends and many new ones from out of town enjoying Sawtelle Japantown. The stores have been steady and we too are thinking about the final quarter of the year. We hope you'll keep up with us through this fun time. Aside from the happenings of the shops, I'd like to announce the Giant Robot Biennale 4 at the Japanese American National Museum. You can see the dates on the schedule on top of Nathan Ota's art. This one should be a complete and rounded exhibition. We'll announce the participating artists this week. Thanks and see you soon.

Flatness! Art is Online
At GR2 are works by Flat Bonnie and a group of artist's pieces which were shown at the Honolulu Museum of Art as a part of Giant Robot Day. We have pieces by Rob Sato, Yoskay Yamamoto, Luke Chueh, Shizu Saldamando, Amy Sol, kozyndan, Mike Lee, Vincent Nguyen, Ferris Plock and more. Here's a link to the pieces in the exhibition.
This is Chewloth! One of the hottest pieces by Flat Bonnie. We had them at SDCC and they flew out. We have just a few left.
More Flatness!
Here's that same link to all of the pieces in the exhibition. Do take a look.
Flatness! Reception Photos
The reception for Flatness! was a fun one. Here's a link to more photos and a few words. Flat Bonnie's Yukari is in the middle and Rick is on the far right. If you want to jump to the flickr set with all of the photos, do that by clicking here!
At the shop!
Pusheen madness!
Here's a link to more of this lovable cat. Why we like Pusheen? We have no idea.
Yoskay Yamamoto
We have a great collection of work by Yoskay Yamamoto. Take a look at some of his pieces ranging from flowers, paintings, and sculpture. We're always proud of him and he'll be in the Biennale 4. (Link)

Curated by Audrey Kawasaki

You might be asking yourself, "curated by Audrey Kawasaki?" Yes, this exhibition idea began quite a while ago. I even asked myself, what will Audrey do? It's akin to how she yearned to do murals in 2015 and she did her first at the Worcester Art Museum - a stellar way to begin. Also in 2015, Audrey wished to curate an exhibition and here it is, "art in a box," an idea concocted last year that's now nearing fruition. Made by hand, each artist received a box to "fill." It promises to be a strong group exhibition filled with mystery of how each artist will execute their projects.

Thanks for sticking with us this far! If you can, share it, save it, and support us.
