Dear AIM2Flourish Community,

Happy Fall. The Fall semester is off to a busy start for AIM2Flourish and I don't get the chance to send newsletters as often as I would like anymore, but we had several exciting updates from our community that we wanted to share.

Please enjoy the news and remember to have your stories to Editorial Review by December 14th so we can get them published by the end of the year and included in our 2023 Flourish Prizing process.

With Appreciation,

Megan Buchter

Critical Reflections on Innovative Flourishing Businesses in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Instructors from the University of Guelph in Canada (Dr. Ruben Burga), University of Navarra in Spain (Dr. Rodriguez Tejedo) and IPMI International Business School in Indonesia (Dr. Amelia Naim) collaborated to create a cross cultural experiential learning activity for their students. Over 120 students from the three institutions were mixed into teams to review 20-40 business innovation case studies published on the AIM2Flourish website in order to analyze their impact on the 17 SDGs. Each team wrote up critical reflections from this experience which were published in an Open Access book available here. The book contains over 350 stories written by the students.

While the AIM2Flourish network seeks to change the story about business from best IN the world, to best FOR the world, the Positive Impact Rating (PIR) is a doing exactly this in the business school world.

Now in its fourth Edition, the PIR achieves a dual purpose:
  1. Measure, benchmark, and compare the societal impact of business schools through the annual rating
  2. Shift the business school culture from competition to collaboration with case studies and peer network events that provide examples and practical insights for higher impact
The PIR reflects the current assessment of a school’s impact on society as perceived by its students. It provides a practical assessment tool to school management and student organizations to achieve a higher impact. Both are empowered to use the data to drive change.

The 2023 Edition of the PIR is open for registration from business schools globally now. For more information visit www.positiveimpactrating.org or get in touch with PIR Manager John Watt at john.watt@positiveimpactrating.org.
