How Can Partnerships Improve the
Digital Health Ecosystem?

New York City - July 27 - RSVP Now
The growth of digital tools and platforms have had a huge impact on global health in the past 10 years. From behavior change to supporting health workers, technology is having a massive influence on how healthcare is managed and delivered at all levels.

As new opportunities continue to emerge for improving global healthcare through digital tools, how can healthcare providers and development agencies be smart in optimizing impact through technology? What role do social enterprises and technology firms play?

One key way of improving healthcare is working through partnerships and integrating within existing ecosystems. This Salon discussion will focus on ways that different tools and platforms can work together to enhance the wider health ecosystem.

Please RSVP now to join these noted thought leaders for a lively discussion on the role of iCTs in global health:
  • Josh Nesbit, CEO at Medic Mobile
  • Jonathan Mckay, Global Head of Partnerships and Director of the US Office of Praekelt.org
  • Tiffany Lentz, Managing Director, Office of Social Change Initiatives at ThoughtWorks
We’ll discuss aspects like:
  • What models are being used and what have been their major gains and challenges?
  • How can different tools and platforms offer complementary ways to create connected, coordinated health systems? What kinds of partnerships are needed? How should we be thinking about these partnerships?
  • How can we both monitor activity and go beyond activity to measure longer-term impact of these tools on improved health management and population wellbeing?
  • How are different actors thinking about the idea of “scale”? How do partnerships and “open source” fit into pathways or plans for achieving greater scale?
  • What helps or hinders collaboration? What could we do to make collaboration easier or more successful?
Please note that this is an evening Happy Hour event, from 5.30-8.30pm, sponsored by Medic Mobile and Praekelt. We’ll have drinks and snacks available, courtesy of our hosts, ThoughtWorks.

RSVP now and arrive early to meet your global health and technology colleagues!

About the Technology Salon

The Technology Salon™ is an intimate, informal, and in person, discussion between information and communication technology experts and international development professionals, with a focus on both:
  • technology's impact on donor-sponsored technical assistance delivery, and
  • private enterprise driven economic development, facilitated by technology.
Our meetings are lively conversations, not boring presentations, and frank participation with ideas, opinions, and predictions is actively encouraged.

It's also a great opportunity to meet others motivated to employ technology to solve vexing development problems. Join us today!
