LRT Expansion
LRT is coming to the West End running along 87 Avenue to Lewis Farms. However, before actual begins, the City has instructed the various utility companies to relocate their infrastructure this year. In Thorncliff, that means the intersections of 87 Ave & 170 Street as well the 175 Street intersection.
The work is scheduled for the end of April and October, will last 2-8 weeks, Monday - Saturday, 7AM - 7PM.
There will be traffic disruptions as well as noise and vibrations. Properties directly impacted by the construction will get a notification letter with contact information for Epcor Water’s Construction Coordinator & the onsite contractor as well as additional information on any water shut offs, temporary water supplies, etc. If there is water shut off for other properties in a wider area, a written notice will be delivered 24 hours in advance. Water service is usually restored within 8 hours.
For more information or to get construction updates, go to
www.epcor.com/construction or call (780)412-3599 or email waterprojects@epcor.com

THANK YOU!!!

To those who helped with the first stage of rink re-development project.

Rink Redevelopment

First phase is underway.
In January 2019, the Thorncliff Rink Removal and Site Redevelopment Committee presented a recommendation to TCL Board of Directors for a two-phase project with an option for phase 3 should the necessary funding be acquired. At that time, TCL ear-marked $10,000 for the capital project. The proposal was approved and in March 2019 TCL submitted an extensive application to the City of Edmonton for their consideration and approval of this proposed redevelopment project.
We will continue to keep the Thorncliff Community abreast of our progress through our monthly newsletter and this website.

For more information see the Community Matters page on the TCL website.
We’re going green, again!  What was once a grey cement plot has been transformed into Thorncliff Community Garden.  This spring will begin the 3rd growing season and the gardens have been a beautiful success.  A planting box in TCL Garden is 6ft x 12ft which is more than enough space to grow all kinds of fresh garden plants.
We expanded the number of garden beds last year and there are still a couple plots left for rent.
