PEPSICO - CONTENT STUDIO

WSDG’s acoustical and media system engineering expertise was engaged to collaborate with Granoff Architects to create a technically flawless, aesthetically invigorating environment for the ambitious venture.  The complex features a 1,150 sq. ft. multi-use recording studio, five editing and production bays, a 575 sq. ft. soundstage, a 515 sq. ft. multi-format screening room, an 1,800 sq. ft. ‘loft-like’ creative bull pen and a spacious, informal reception/dining area.

WSDG Partner Renato Cipriano reports the project established a new WSDG standard for overall excellence. “The home took almost three years to design and construct, and the owners brought us on board at its inception.  During the design stage we engaged our proprietary Room Simulation/Acoustic Modeling programs to assure the client that the room’s ideal acoustic environment would optimize the performance quality of their exceptional playback system.”

WSDG EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Project Engineer Kevin Peterson

Growing up in a small town in Connecticut, USA, Kevin Peterson developed an early love for the great outdoors.  From Cub Scout to Eagle Scout he was (and remains) an inveterate hiker and camper.  While playing in local bands he developed a fascination with gear, recording and technical fields such as acoustic design and measurement.  An aptitude for physics inspired Kevin to pursue a career in Pro Audio.  He graduated as Class Valedictorian from Full Sail University in 2013, with a degree in Show Production, and Course Director Awards in five subjects. At Full Sail he encountered his first WSDG-Designed studio, and found his true calling as an acoustician.

A WSDG internship led to a full time job as a Project Engineer. Kevin’s WSDG assignments include the complex acoustical isolation mission at NYC’s new Sony Store.  “While I still enjoy camping out in the Appalachian wilds, I find my day-to-day WSDG assignments equally challenging,” Peterson says. “WSDG has an incredible international team.  The opportunity to work with acousticians with their level of accomplishment is like being paid while earning a doctorate.”
