MS StuCo Presents at Conference

41 Lake Dallas Middle School students participated with over 450 state student leaders at the Middle School Student Council (StuCo) fall conference in Mansfield on October 13.  Students from all across the state shared ideas and worked on building leadership skills to take back to their home campuses.

LDMS students and advisors not only attended, but also led small group sessions. 8th graders Peyton Butler, Naomi Wheat, Marcus Tolson and Liberty Thomson, and 7th grader Cassidy Forehand presented small group sessions: Bags of Love for our local food pantryStaff Appreciation Ideas, and Community Service Projects.  

LDMS StuCo Advisor John Fabro represented the school and state by presenting to 22 different advisors the topics How Student Council Can Help Principals as well as How to Run an Effective Student Council

Kid2Chef Shows Skills at State Fair
 
Corinth Elementary Kid2Chef were invited to the State Fair to showcase the culinary skills learned in the 4-H club with another team from Cooke County. Team members included Isaac Canas, Ashlyn Staubus, Kenndi Luke, and Aubrey Caldwell.  The club created recipes that highlighted Texas products and commodities using poultry and corn. During the presentation, the team incorporated Path to the Plate facts into the presentation. The goal of the event was to showcase 4-H kids, programs, and Texas agriculture!
