Mahalo for Making Hawaii Storytellers
a Huge Success!

A warm mahalo to everyone who attended last Friday's event at the ARTS at Marks Garage, and a huge thank you to our storytellers: Lois-Ann Yamanaka, Denby Fawcett, Spencer Toyama, Jonathan Okamura, Mark Landsberg, and Kumu Hina.  We hope everyone enjoyed the pre-show activities, storytelling, and lively discussion about race relations in Hawaii.

For those unable to attend, we're sorry we missed you, but you can catch video of most of our speakers on Facebook as we publish clips in the coming weeks.  In the meantime, click here for a digital book from our Zine Station, where participants were asked to create a self-portrait collage of how they see themselves in terms of race.

Civil Beat is a nonprofit organization, and we rely on your contributions to produce events such as Hawaii Storytellers.  If you enjoy our live events, please consider supporting Civil Beat with a tax-deductible gift

With Gratitude and Aloha,
