Anthropologist, Dr. Mimi George is joining us from Hawaii. She was the principal investigator of the Vaka Taumako Project. Among her incredible stories of researching voyages using techniques of freezing a sailboat in the sea-ice of Antarctica, she will be leading us through her exploration of the meaning of frigate birds for the voyaging peoples (and women sailors) of the Pacific, Indian and Caribbean oceans.
