NWSA, local women’s sailing associations, sailing centers and girl serving organizations partner to share a day of sailing adventure with under-served girls. This She Sailor Sea Story episode centers around girls who experienced this adventure. They enjoyed an AdventureSail, an introduction to sailing, loved it, then applied and received sailing scholarships.

Told by these girls, this She Sailor Sea Story episode is certain to be special. Not only did hese young sailors discovere the joy of sailing at AdventureSail, they recieved sailing scholarships to continue learning.

Host Anne Bryant will help us welcome them to our community of sailors. Anne has been a stalwart friend of NWSA. She is a Women Who Sail admin and journalist and an enthusiastic She Sailor Sea Story host.

Stephanie Roney is a student at San Pedro High School, in Los Angeles and was NWSA’s Sue Corl Youth Scholarship recipient this summer. In her scholarship application letter of recommendation included an expression of hope for a bit more sail training for Stephanie. Hear from Stephanie how recieving her scholarship to attend Cabrillo Beach Sailing Foundation this summer opened exciting opportunities to new adventures.

Daisy Guerra and Allyson Garcia, Butterfly Effect Project and AdventureSail participants, enjoyed a spectacular sailing introduction. They sailed on a Sunfish, laughed, learned and swam. With the support of Laura V and Mattituck Yacht Club, the girls toured Oakcliff, met the teams and walked around MAIDEN !

Then after earned a scholarship, they continued sailing at camp this summer!
