We are looking for a new talented system developer!

We are looking for a talented web-developer to work on DMPonline! Although primarily run as a UK service, the tool, and especially the codebase, has uptake internationally so your additions will have a wide reach and impact. The post-holder will work on the DCC’s DMPonline tool, enhancing functionality to meet international user needs. This will involve developing new features, undertaking routine maintenance and liaising with DMPonline clients. Short summary from July drop in session

Thank you to everyone who joined our July #DMPchat session. We spoke about our newest members of staff in the UK and in the US. Killian, who is our summer intern at DMPonline, explained that he currently works on conditional questions a request from our recent user groups. Sarah also introduced Maria Praetzellis - who used to work in the internet archive - who joined our partners in DMPTool in the USA. We also announced that we are looking for a full time software developer. We shared with you that we will be running a user group and possibly RDMF in September in London. We briefly covered also our current work on our new promo materials (printed postcards, flyers & tutorial videos for administrators). We have suggested that it will be great if institutions wanted to share some lessons from their institutions. You also asked what is the difference between DMPRoadmap, DMPonline and DMPTool - we will put a blog post about this and announced how to stay in touch with us, and get the latest updates. We are looking forward to chat to you all in our August drop in session! :)

Phasing out information for non-subscribers

Each month, Magdalena reaches out universities who have admin access to DMPonline, but did not get back to us in regards their subscription. This month we finally completed the phasing out. As mentioned in our last newsletter, we have been slowly phasing out admin access for institutions who do not have a subscription. Magdalena has been working hard over the past few months to get in touch with all institutions that may be affected to ensure they are informed and to avoid any difficulties during the transition. From the end of July 2019 only subscribers will have administrator access to DMPonline. If you have any concerns or questions about the phasing out process, please get in touch.

DMPonline case study - Cranfield University

This month Georgina Parsons shares how Cranfield University uses DMPonline the benefits and challenges.

"There’s no use having a policy in place if we don’t fully commit to supporting and monitoring it. This included being able to see or report on all DMPs in order to check progress and identify any pockets where extra DMP support for students or supervisors was required. It seemed logical to use the central DMPonline system as it would be more efficient than storing Word documents in a still-to-be-found-solution, and would in time enable quick reporting."

'How to' video on how to add a department

This month we are featuring a video on how to add a department for your institution.

Please let us know which features in particular you would like demos of and we can prepare these and add them to the user guide.

Days for your calendar

What would you like to see in our monthly drop in sessions? Please let us know in our survey.
