Connection points between DMPs and repositories
On Monday, we ran a workshop in Hamburg at the Open Repositories conference where we discussed potential connection points between Data Management Plans and repository platforms. We had a great variety of attendees from different backgrounds and countries, resulting in a rich discussion. Key requirements were capturing details on the data to streamline deposit and validating what is said in the DMP against practice.

Quick summary from our June drop in session
Thank you to everyone who joined our June #DMPchat session. We discussed the difference between the paid and unpaid version of DMPonline. We also covered our latest release, told you about our most recent workshop we have run on Open Repositories and connection to DMPs. We announced that we have a new student intern starting at the beginning of July who will be working on conditional questions. We also asked you to give us a feedback on our new flyers, postcards and folders. At the end we summed up with sharing links for Doodle polls for our possible upcoming user groups and announced our next drop in session in July. We are looking forward to chat to you all in our July drop in session! :)

Quite few of you got in touch with us asking, whether we could add the Swiss National Science Foundation template into DMPonline. Please note that now when you click to Create a new plan, in the 'select the primary funding organisation' you can look up for the Swiss National Science Foundation template which is now published on DMPonline. DMPonline subscription model revisited
The feedback we receive from you is crucial for how we run our DMPonline service. You have made suggestions in regards to our subscription models - several institutions got in touch asking whether we could start offering longer-term subscriptions as these are easier to agree internally and give institutions stability. We are now offering 3 year long subscriptions.

For the next 10 weeks we'll be joined by Killian Dunne, a fourth year student of Mathematics at The University of Edinburgh, who is doing a summer internship with us. Killian will be working on the conditional questions so you can tailor what users are asked and set alerts and triggers. Next month we'll be in touch to get your feedback on plans.

Phasing out information for non-subscribers
Each month, Magdalena reaches out universities who have admin access to DMPonline, but did not get back to us in regards their subscription. This month we will continue with the phasing out. as mentioned in our last newsletter, we have been slowly phasing out admin access for institutions who do not have subscription. Magdalena has been working hard over the past few months to get in touch with all institutions that may be affected to ensure they are informed and to avoid any difficulties during the transition. From the end of June 2019 only subscribers will be able to edit your institutional profile by adding logos or links and allow your users to request feedback on their DMPs. If you have any concerns or questions about the phasing out process, please get in touch.

Building an integrated service: DMPonline at the University of Manchester by Clare Liggins
Clare Liggins explains how the University of Manchester uses DMPonline.
"Data Management Plans (DMPs) have been mandatory at the University of Manchester for every research project for nearly 5 years, as has also been the case for most major UK research funders. In April 2018, the University of Manchester completed a major revision of data management planning processes at the University of Manchester and moved to using DMPonline. Since then Manchester researchers have created more than 3000 DMPs using this service."
