Grants for OutDoor Exhibitors
There are still some Department for International Trade grants of £1,500 available for OIA Members planning to exhibit at OutDoor 2017 to take advantage of. To be eligible, your company must have been exporting for less than 10 years, or did not receive a TAP grant for exhibiting at OutDoor in 2016. Funding competition: innovation in cycling and walking

The Department for Transport (DfT) has announced that it will fund up to £470,000 for innovative projects that lead to more walking and cycling. The competition is open to individuals, groups and organisations, and it is particularly suitable for early-stage, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Government publishes £1.2 billion plan to increase cycling and walking

The government has published its £1.2 billion long-term plan to make cycling and walking the natural choice for shorter journeys. Plans include specific objectives to double cycling, reduce cycling accidents and increase the proportion of 5 to 10 year-olds walking to school to 55% by 2025.

OIA 2017 AGM Report

The OIA’s 2017 Report was presented to delegates at the conference in March, which contains a summary of current membership together with details of our financial progress over the last few years. It also highlights key activities of the OIA in the last 12 months and provides an overview of the accounts from the previous financial year. Our Business Plan is featured on the back page, which summarises what we represent and what we do as an Association to promote and support our members.

Home Office Warns of the Sale of Hexamine Tablets

The Home Office has brought to our attention the dangers of the sale of large quantities of Hexamine tablets, which are used in solid fuel stoves, and has requested that we help to build awareness of the potential misuse of this product. An information leaflet (download here) has been produced by The Home Office to provide guidance on this subject and provide advice on how to recognise a suspicious transaction.
