The National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases is one of six National Collaborating Centres for Public Health funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. The six centres form a network across Canada, each hosted by a different institution and focusing on a different topic in public health. NCCID is hosted by the International Centre for Infectious Diseases (ICID), located in Winnipeg.
October brings us the second Evidence Review in the Partner Notification (PN) series, “Outcomes Related to STI Partner Notification,” written by PhD candidate Darlene Taylor from the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control. The paper discusses the effects of partner notification strategies on index patient re-infection rates, changes in the behaviour of index patients or partners, incidence of sexuall transmitted infections and blood borne infections in Canada.
NCCID Project Manager, Rick Harp, will attend the Prairies HIV Conference in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, November 4 to 5, 2013. You will find Rick in the exhibitor area, where he will be displaying NCCID’s knowledge products and will be available for any questions you may have about NCCID’s projects.
