July 2011 ~ V.2 #7
July already? Where does the time go? This is a very special month for our household. First, the birthdays of our beautiful daughter and grand daughter decorate the calendar, reminding us of how blessed we are! Happy Birthday, Jesse and Emily Clare! ...our Yankee Doodle babies!
July also marks the middle of summer when the weather is warm, signaling friends and relatives to come together for the July 4th holiday, their yearly migration celebrated with picnics and laughter under sparkly night skies. Patriotic melodies float on the air while folks come together, making memories with family while reuniting with old friends and making new ones along the way. Everyone is invited. Everyone is welcome. Veterans and others who have fought and served to defend the ideals of the Declaration of Independence and the human rights of all people here and in other lands all over the world are honoured and celebrated for their sacrifice. This time of year marks a day in history where many freedoms were recognized and declared all those years ago, for all the world to hear. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Wherever you are in the world this 4th of July, take a moment to stop and smell the freedom in the air. As you do, send a prayer of love out to everyone on the planet, beaming your heart light to all who reside upon her. Send love to all living things by enfolding the planet in the light and love the resides within your heart. Let your own beautiful light shine out and shower the Earth with love, one child's sparkler joining many on a clear summer night...the Spark of the Divine within us all...
Wishing all a safe and happy Independence Day!
Deck of the Month...
Llewellyn's Tarot is a tribute to Llewellyn George, creator Carl Llewellyn's grandfather and founder of Llewellyn Publications. Born in Swansea, Wales, on August 17th, 1876 and immigrated to America as a young boy, Llew was a living example of the "Fool's Journey", a poetic irony considering the nature of his livelihood. But instead of being an aloof and unsure traditional Fool, he transformed that archetype from lackadaisical to one of intrepid determination and hope in search of adventure.
Artist Anna-Marie Ferguson immersed herself in the mists of Wales so as to produce a brand new Tarot concept that drew on ancient archetypal imagery while breathing new life into the timeless mystery that is the Tarot. In the case of Llewellyn's Tarot, it tells the story of the youth who enters life eagerly, who's first step is that of the magician. The excellent companion book tells it best: "We are born with inner power and knowledge, and our journey is one of discovery and mastery in order to fulfill the promise with which we are born. The Tarot is the Book of Life for those willing to lay it out for revelation and guidance, and then to use its archetypal energies with wisdom and purpose to win at the Game of Life. This tarot is not only a fortunetelling device but one that is fortune-making. These are cards of power that when so used will awaken circuits of energy, represented by their relationship in the formulas you create with your layouts or by any single card you choose with purpose.
"The Tarot is a hidden universe in a secret book of cards. The universe is both "out there" and "in here". As above, so below. The Llewellyn Tarot deck is the result of five years of intense study and creation by the artist, already knowledgeable and well known for her creation of Legend: The Arthurian Tarot and for her illustrations to the Cassell edition of le Morte D'Arthur edited by John Matthews. Anna-Marie Ferguson created The Llewellyn Tarot to exemplify the very raison d'etre of Llewellyn as "bringer of light". Llewellyn is named for Llew Llaw Gyffes - "the bright one of the skillful hand" - hero of the Mabinogion. He is a solar deity, and his festival is celebrated August 1. He is the essence of zodiacal Leo, as was Llewellyn George, who...was called "Llew" by his friends."
Llewellyn's Tarot is beautiful in its execution, invoking a dream-like quality of Celtic ambiance and mystery - a kind of waking dream state that transports one to the ancient British Isles effortlessly. You meet many whom you've heard spoken of in fireside stories, becoming friends with known legends and new. I particularly like how the Major Arcana tells its unique story while staying faithful to Rider-Waite tradition, and then follows through with the Minor Arcana, which balances out the subtle departures that has been woven into the realm of the Celtic Wales of old. With distinctive Arthurian flavour, one feels the Celtic theme brush up against Tolkien lore and combine with subtle Pagan elements, creating an earthy, natural Tarot experience that charms one away from the everyday.

Ruby Zodiac: Cancer ~ Vibration: #3 ~ Ray: 6th
Ruby, known since before the time of the Bible and one of the stones in the High Priest's breast plate, is named after the Latin word for "red" and is found in a colour range from pink to crimson to orange-red. This beautiful mineral stimulates the heart chakra and assists one in the selection and attainment of ones ultimate values. Ruby is known as the "stone of nobility", gathering and amplifying energy while promoting and stimulating mental concentration. It can also improve ones success in controversies and disputes, encouraging gentleness while discouraging violence.
It is an excellent shielding stone, protecting on all levels and safeguarding ones consciousness from psychic attack, as well as protecting the wearer/carrier from unhappiness, distressing dreams and lightning.
The Ruby stimulates the loving emotional side toward nurturing, bringing spiritual wisdom, health, knowledge and wealth. It has been used to induce a stability in ones economic status, being said that as long as one retains a bit of Ruby, wealth will never depart. In ancient cultures, it was also used in the practice of "casting lots" to assist in the determination of resolutions and decisions.
The energy of the Ruby is intense and vivid, bringing lucidity to the dream state and conveying understanding and control of the role and action of the mental state upon the physical realm. It encourages one to follow bliss and is said to light the darkness of ones life, giving birth to a spark of light which will progress throughout the body and spirit, conquering darkness on all levels. The energy can assist one in changing ones world, promoting creativity and expansiveness in awareness and manifestation. It has been used in the treatment of fever, and heart disorders relating to blood flow through the ventricles. It has also been used to facilitate the exit of chemicals and toxins, encouraging them to leave the body and will counter balance stimulants such as caffeine as well as aiding in fetal growth for optimum birth size for babies.
A noble stone for a noble heart, rubies refelct our inner flame and the heart light that can never be extinguished. Give this gemstone as a reflection of love and rememberance and as an aid in healing of the heart.

Question of the Month: " Can you tell us more about psychic shielding, especially for empaths and those who have higher empathic sensitivities?" ...submitted by Aqueelah Hill.
I am asked this question often. Empathy, while generally inherent and common for all humans, has been discovered to manifest in wide and varying degrees. And, while all humans have empathy to one extent or another, some are far more sensitive than others. so much so that they can be prone to super-sensitivities that can be detrimental to their physical and emotional well being. These folks do not experience a normal empathy. They are true empaths and are a gift from the Divine as a mirror of the Divine.
Wiki states that empathy is "the capacity to recognize and, to some extent, share feelings (such as sadness or happiness) that are being experienced by another sentient or semi-sentient being. Someone may need to have a certain amount of empathy before they are able to feel compassion. Empathy is the key cornerstone in genuine human relationships. Empathy is conscious." With an empath it is never a question of whether one has empathy or not, but how to deal with it on a day to day basis. While at times it may feel like a curse, you have been given this special ability to help mankind along the path to being a better reflection of the Divine, and therein lies the answer: reflection.
Being intuitively "sensitive" does not mean that you have to be laid bare and subjected to the out of control energies and emotions of others. While it does take a little bit of practice, you can learn to shield yourself, sort of like walking upon stones barefooted. At first it's a little tricky, but the more you do it, the better your feet will adapt and before you know it the rocks have no effect - you are running on the rocks!
The first line of defense is to try to avoid places where you know that the energy will be running high and possibly become overwhelming. If you can't avoid it - like Uncle Bob's wedding or the yearly family reunion that we mentioned earlier - make a plan to limit exposure to the direct blast of energy output from others. You can also hang out on the sidelines farther away from the source. Ironically, this sounds like a recommendation regarding direct sun exposure and how to avoid sun burn. This similarity isn't as far fetched as one might think! :)
Recognize that the ability goes both ways. While it seems that high energy people are constantly blasting you with a super stream of energy, by being more empathic and sensitive, you are probably leaving your aura more open and prone to sensing their energetic output. By recognizing the two-way flow and dual nature of the situation, you will be better able to protect yourself. On the other side of the coin, there is a phenomena known as psychic vampirism, where others try to tap into your energy and take it from you, leaving you drained and depleted without you actually realizing that it is happening at the time. By the time you figure out what has transpired, it is too late to protect yourself. In some instances, the psychic vampire does not even realize what they are doing, only that they feel better whenever they have had an exchange with you. Others are more calculated and are aware of their deeds. They can tap into your energy in an endless variety of ways that leave you feeling drained, depleted, overwhelmed and tired. Remember, like moths to a flame, people will gravitate towards a person with a brighter light and higher energy, sometimes consciously but mostly subconsciously. Basically it is instinctual and not personal which can put your mind at ease.
There are ways to protect yourself when you feel an energy overload. First, draw in your aura closer to your physical body. Normally, a person's aura when in a relaxed state will radiate out from the physical body approximately one to four feet. This can be accomplished with a light meditation that can be done anytime, anywhere. Imagine that you are pulling your aura in closer to your physical body. Say to yourself, "I am pulling my aura in closer" and it will happen. Feel it coming in closer. By pulling your aura in closer, you protect it from contact with outside energies and the auras of others. Next, after pulling your aura closer, imagine and see the light of the Divine shining down from above, bathing you in a beam of bright white light. See this light surrounding you in a column of loving protection. Say to yourself, "I surround myself in the white light of God's love and Divine protection." Make it an affirmation. Speak it with firm resolve. Imagine the energy of others hitting that light and bouncing back to them. Not only are you protecting yourself from unwanted energy, you are aiding them by giving back what they energetically need. By using faith in yourself and the Divine within, you can transform that super blast of energy into a healing ray of love. See the bombardment of energy bouncing off of the bright shining love of the Divine that surrounds and protects you reflecting back to where it came from.
Be aware that the people who are energy manipulators may regard you with a shifting interest, wondering what has "changed", especially those who are unaware of their sloppy energy habits. With just a little practice and faith, you can regain your energy, heal others and protect your life force and vitality.
