Another milestone:

Our first annual Volunteer Retreat was a success this past weekend!

This past weekend we took a moment to explore nature and rebalance ourselves. Access to nature is something that we believe is important for people living within spiritually and financially impoverished urban centers. Access to a joyous natural environment is deeply limited especially for Black and brown, as well as queer people, living in New York City. This retreat taught us many things, and confirmed this reality.

Our team is evolving as a family. Thank you for holding space for our journey!

As we gain strength and capacity to reach new heights, Collective Focus is destined to grew beyond the limitations of a chaotic city. For now, we bring back to Bedstuy a spirit of adventure and an even stronger bond between individuals who united during the pandemic under a common goal: to help our neighbors the way we wish to be helped. Providing free food and creative opportunities for all.

Summer Updates

While most people think that a summer break sounds like vacation, we are hard at work this month.

We were invited to install a community fridge backstage at Central Park’s annual Summer Stage concert series.

Last week we gave our outdoor space a makeover, creating a new gardening initiative based on neighborhood feedback.

We are just getting started. In the upcoming weeks we are installing new community fridges, gardening, renovating, repairing, and dreaming big.
