Science News

… And thank you for joining our student news list! Each month we’ll tell you about upcoming events and news that we think will be of interest to you. We’ll also share the story of a former student – their experiences as an undergrad and what they’ve done since, tell you about funding for co-op and research placements, give study tips, provide updates from student societies, and a few surprises!

We want to share your news

Our events calendar is a place to list science events in the region. Be sure to send us info about your school’s events, like SURF at MtA, the Annual Student Research Day at St. FX, or the SPUR summer program at UPEI! Find us on Facebook and Twitter too. We’ll be happy to promote your groups and news there.

So, who is Science Atlantic?

The staff at Science Atlantic includes a group of current and former students who want to make the organization more student friendly. Our mandate is to advance science education and research in Atlantic Canada, something we’ve been doing as a faculty network for over 50 years. We’d like to help students connect as well!

If you’re in third or fourth year, you may have heard of
the Science Atlantic conference” where you can present your research, listen to keynote speakers, and meet students and faculty from other universities. There are actually nine conferences, as well as other conferences and events in our region. We will be sharing these with you and encouraging you to participate!

This month’s conferences: Atlantic Universities Geological Conference (AUGC) and the Math, Stats & Computer Science Conference and Programming Competition! Check their websites and contact the faculty rep at your university for more info.
