Office Closed until Further Notice

On Monday, December 14, the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph area was moved into the RED zone of Ontario's COVID-19 framework. Because of this, ISGW has decided to close the office until further notice and suspend all in-person appointments and activities.

Our staff will continue to work remotely five days per week to offer our services by email, phone and video chat. ISGW's workshops, conversation circles, classes, employment programs, language assessments, etc. are all available online.

NEW! Permanent Resident Status Confirmation Portal
To manage the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), in most cases, confirmation of permanent resident (PR) status can be done without in-person interviews through a new, secure portal.

Travel Documents 
If you don’t need a travel document urgently, wait until normal services resume to apply. Due to COVID-19, you can only get travel document services in Canada if you have a valid reason to travel urgently. For more information:
Canadian Passport Applications
Mail-in passport services in Canada has resumed if you need a passport in more than 30 days. It is recommended that you don’t finalize any travel plans until you get your passport. If your passport expired on or after February 1, 2019, you now have an additional year to renew your passport, rather than applying for a new one. This means you can wait to renew it. You can do so any time within 2 years of the expiry date. For more information:

Do You Need a Language Assessment?

To book an appointment for an online language assessment, contact Marjan at or call 519-836-2222, ext. 237. In-person appointments are not available at this time.
Virtual counselling (adult, individual counselling, short-term couples counselling and youth, individual counselling) will be available monthly starting Thursday, December 17. Connect with a counsellor by phone or computer from your home, or a private room at ISGW. Each appointment is for 50 minutes. Ask your Settlement Counsellor for details.

How to make an appointment (phone-in only)

You be asked some screening questions then provided an appointment time the same day or next day. If the two-day capacity is reached, you will be asked to call back the next day.
