Evening Meeting: Milk: Composition and Effect
Chemistry Lecture Theatre, University of Reading
5th May 5.30 pm
After a break of some years and in recognition of the daily demands on the time of members, the SDT is holding this Evening Meeting for members and invited guests on Tuesday May 5th 2015.
On this special occasion we are very fortunate to be able to welcome two distinguished speakers and international experts in the field of milk chemistry & technology, Dr Mike Lewis of the University of Reading and Dr Hilton Deeth of the University of Queensland, Australia, who will give two papers under the theme of milk composition and its effects. They have a successful track record of research collaboration together for over a decade which has led to a a better understanding of the properties of calcium fortified beverages and the effects of stabilizers on heat stability and other physicochemical properties of milk.
In order to manage this event and to get an indication of numbers please book using the booking form on our website. Click here for the weblink and the programme and booking form are at the bottom of the page. Full details can be found on the events page.
At the request of members, we have created a forum on the members area of the website and there are currently two forums running; one on Spring Conference venues and the second on lean manufacturing. Do get involved and if you want to create a forum email me and I can set up a topic for you to create it on.
The online membership application is up and running so if you know of any colleagues or friends who ought to join it is just a click away!
We have booked Reaseheath old Hall again for the Annual Dinner and Nigel White of the British Cheese Board is our speaker. We really want to continue with this and are seeking a sponsor for the event. We invite the graduating Eden students free of charge so we always have a cost incurred. If anybody or any company would like to sponsor the event, please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss ways of making this work for you as well as us!
Meanwhile book the date; 27th July. We shall have an afternoon event in conjunction with Reaseheath and an evening reception prior to the Dinner.
