Real World Design Week 2016 - Save the Date
ASID Wisconsin will be hosting Real World Design Week November 2–November 6
. Real World Design Week is a mentoring program offering hands-on learning experiences to introduce students to the real world of interior design. The program is designed to educate the next generation of designers and provide them exposure to professional practices and access to career development training. During the week, ASID student members will visit the work locations of ASID designers, Industry Partner representatives and educators to shadow for a half or full day. We already have companies from the Milwaukee, Madison and Stevens Point areas that have agreed to host students for the day. However, we would like more. If you are interested, please contact Amy Wenger
. Registration information and more details will be communicated to the student chapters later this week.

Path to Professionalism
This article tells the story of an interior designer in Michigan that took the initiative to take and pass the NCIDQ in order to distinguish herself from other interior designers or decorators. Michigan does not have interior design legislation at this time, but when it does, Autumn Fuchs will have the credential necessary to apply for registration. This also makes her eligible to apply to be a Registered Interior Designer in any other state that has registration, like Wisconsin.
If you have taken and passed the NCIDQ, you are eligible become a Wisconsin Registered Interior Designer and set yourself apart. We need your voice for our profession. Click here

for the Application Form.
A WRID is the only interior designer that can brand themselves as a Wisconsin Registered Interior Designer or Firm. Your achievement does not keep other interior designers from practicing.
Are You CEU Compliant?
ASID mandates that all practitioner members—Professional, Allied, and Associate—earn a minimum of 1.0 (10 hours) approved continuing education units (CEUs) every two years. The current reporting period will end on December 31, 2015
, and ASID strongly encourages members to meet the year-end CEU requirements to maintain active membership status.
Practitioner members can satisfy CEU requirements with ASID Academy
, the convenient online learning management system for continuing education and professional development. ASID Academy features over 30 accredited courses within such topics as: sustainability, health and wellness, leadership, impact of design, practice of design, and business of design.
Curated courses within ASID Academy offer credits to fulfill CEU requirements. Available from anywhere with an Internet connection, the course catalog allows users to earn CEUs on their own time, and gain insightful knowledge to implement immediately. Discounted pricing is available for ASID members, and all courses taken and passed by members will be automatically reported to IDCEC.
