Beyond Picking Paint Colors...
Uniting to Break Interior Design Stereotypes
The complete lack of understanding as to the value and skill of an Interior Designer was once again demonstrated recently in an article in The Federalist. We suggest you take a look and also read the well-crafted response
from Randy Fiser, CEO of ASID National.
ASID National advocates on behalf of all interior designers for licensure. Without these laws, interior designers are legally subservient to other members of the design team, such as architects and engineers. It is for this reason, that we encourage all members to become a Wisconsin Registered Interior Designer (WRID).
With you as a WRID, we will have a stronger presence and a bigger voice, to advocate for our profession and to accomplish even greater legislative goals that heavily impact our practice.
To clearly outline the importance and the path to professionalism in interior design, we have developed a step-by-step reference on our site. Be in the know. Visit the Path to Professional Status

Words of wisdom for my younger designer self:
Charge more, haha! Be more consistent about making your kids clean their rooms! Pass on dessert more often! Buy Apple stock...
On my night table:
An old Murano glass lamp, books Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner, All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, Lola Bensky by Lily Brett (I'm in 2 book clubs), a seashell that was my grandmother's, a dress of my daughter's that needs mending...
