The Wisconsin Chapter of ASID is hosting an Emerging Professional Networking Event on May 29th, at BSI’s new corporate headquarters.  BSI (Building Service Inc.), founded in 1947, designs, builds and furnishes commercial interiors.  Join us for a tour of their dynamic space – learn about their design challenges, inspiration, and what makes their space ASID Gold.

This event is open to all interior designers that self-identify as Emerging Professionals – those within the first five years of their career after graduation.  Recent graduates and senior level interior design students – this includes you!

STRUT 2014 Call to Entry
Deadline May 30th, 2014

Team registration is now open for the fourth annual STRUT runway event taking place FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2014 at historic Turner Hall in Milwaukee, WI. Proceeds raised through this event will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Wisconsin.

This year, teams will create their own pairings and sign up as a complete group (team members + industry collaborator). Teams may consist of members within or outside of the design community (that’s right, your grandma or hairdresser could join the group!), professionals or students, but shall be no more than 5 people total including the model and industry collaborator (manufacturer’s rep).

The theme is Decades – Black & White. Teams will choose a first and second choice of Decade by which to be inspired, but there is a max of 2 teams per decade and they will be allowed on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Seeking Volunteers to Judge Awards for the Virginia ASID Chapter

One of our esteemed judges from this year's Design Excellence Awards, Cameron Stiles, has asked the WI Chapter to judge the Virginia award submissions. We are looking for 5-6 volunteers. Design to Lead - Group Discounts Available

Design to Lead is a two-day interactive event, guided by Victor Ermoli, dean of SCAD’s School of Design, that will provide participants with an exploration of leadership skills and education to inspire the next generation of leaders. Presentations and workshops will explore the expertise needed to challenge the status quo and to approach leadership in the business of design in new ways, focusing on a range of skills, including business acumen, emotional intelligence, communication strategies, strategic thinking and negotiation. The event will culminate with a keynote presentation by Marty Neumeier, author of Metaskills: Five Talents for the Robotic Age.

First Fridays at OFR

Juried Student Design Concepts from Across Campus

Opening Reception: Thursday, April 17th, 5 - 7 PM  
This juried exhibition of student work has been a Design Gallery tradition since 1992.  Now open to students throughout the University of WI-Madison campus, submissions will be from design based disciplines including Graphic, Interior, Textile, Apparel, Furniture, Theater Design and Landscape Architecture.

Throughout the year students in textile, apparel and interior design reserve their best projects to submit for review. At the Design Gallery we recognize the time and effort that students invest in their various projects and artistic endeavors. We welcome all work that is conceptual or functional, finished pieces, maquettes or representations.
