Bubbles, Rippling, and Peeling, Oh My!

Everyone dreads the phone call from a panicked client whose new flooring installation just failed. Join ASID, SEWCTC, and WGBA on Tuesday, November 10th to learn about the main reasons that flooring installations buckle, bubble and split, including moisture and proper floor preparation. With live demonstrations of carpet, LVT, linoleum, cork, and porcelain tile, as well as two knowledgeable guest speakers, we will walk away with a better understanding of the importance of floor preparation, quality specifications, informed installers, and know what to look for when a flooring seems to be failing!  Light refreshments will be served.

When: Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 5:00PM-7:30PM

Where: SEWCTC Training Center
N25 W23055 Paul Road, Pewaukee, WI 53072

Are You CEU Compliant?

ASID mandates that all practitioner members—Professional, Allied, and Associate—earn a minimum of 1.0 (10 hours) approved continuing education units (CEUs) every two years. The current reporting period will end on December 31, 2015, and ASID strongly encourages members to meet the year-end CEU requirements to maintain active membership status.

Practitioner members can satisfy CEU requirements with ASID Academy, the convenient online learning management system for continuing education and professional development. ASID Academy features over 30 accredited courses within such topics as: sustainability, health and wellness, leadership, impact of design, practice of design, and business of design.

Curated courses within ASID Academy offer credits to fulfill CEU requirements. Available from anywhere with an Internet connection, the course catalog allows users to earn CEUs on their own time, and gain insightful knowledge to implement immediately. Discounted pricing is available for ASID members, and all courses taken and passed by members will be automatically reported to IDCEC.
Opportunity for ASID Members in Milwaukee Area

The Friends of Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum would appreciate the involvement of Milwaukee area ASID members.  If anyone is interested in being a part of the stewardship of the Villa and its surrounding gardens, there are many opportunities on the horizon.  Members who have a special interest in historic preservation and/or art history could be especially helpful.  Please contact Sonja Durkee at 414.550.7828 or for more information.
