The Wisconsin Chapter of ASID is hosting an Emerging Professional Networking Event on May 29th, at BSI’s new corporate headquarters.  BSI (Building Service Inc.), founded in 1947, designs, builds and furnishes commercial interiors.  Join us for a tour of their dynamic space – learn about their design challenges, inspiration, and what makes their space ASID Gold.

This event is open to all interior designers that self-identify as Emerging Professionals – those within the first five years of their career after graduation.  Recent graduates and senior level interior design students – this includes you!

Get social - get inspired!

ASID-WI Member Pat Kluetz Named Fellow

The American Society of Interior Designers has announced its 2014 ASID Class of Fellows: Patricia Kluetz, Jane Garland Lucas and Shashi Caan. Pat is a professor at UW-Steven's Point and practicing designer. We congratulate her on this honor!

The title of Fellow is awarded annually to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service and contributions to the Society, the profession and the interior design industry. The highest distinction a member can receive from ASID, these Fellows will be inducted on June 21, 2014, at Celebration: The ASID Awards Gala at Paramount Picture Studios in Los Angeles. STRUT 2014 Call to Entry
Deadline May 30th, 2014


Team registration is now open for the fourth annual STRUT runway event taking place FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2014 at historic Turner Hall in Milwaukee, WI. Proceeds raised through this event will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Wisconsin.

This year, teams will create their own pairings and sign up as a complete group (team members + industry collaborator). Teams may consist of members within or outside of the design community (that’s right, your grandma or hairdresser could join the group!), professionals or students, but shall be no more than 5 people total including the model and industry collaborator (manufacturer’s rep).

The theme is Decades – Black & White. Teams will choose a first and second choice of Decade by which to be inspired, but there is a max of 2 teams per decade and they will be allowed on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Seeking Volunteers to Judge Awards for the Virginia ASID Chapter

One of our esteemed judges from this year's Design Excellence Awards, Cameron Stiles, has asked the WI Chapter to judge the Virginia award submissions. We are looking for 5-6 volunteers. Projects would be sent for review mid-June and judging would need to be performed and results returned by mid-July. Roxann Bentfield will coordinate judging. Interested? The Sustainability Advocacy Committee & The Green Design Center present the first annual Recycling Event!

It's time for Spring cleaning!

The ASID WI Sustainability Advocacy Committee & the Green Design Center are collecting outdated and discontinued samples and materials to be given a new life and kept out of the landfill.

Industry Partners - As you visit design firms to update libraries, please spread the word and collect the discontinued materials.
Designers - What a great opportunity to clear out your libraries! Once you have a load, contact the Green Design Center to set up a time to drop-off.

Drop off anytime between NOW and August 14th.

Join us August 22-23 for an open-to-the-public event to rummage through these treasures to be used in crafts, home projects, or whatever you come up with! Spread the word to your family and friends!

Pay your ASID dues monthly!

All practitioner members, upon joining ASID or when renewing, have the option of signing up for a monthly debit on their credit card. This will reduce the initial outlay of money and allows you to divide the overall dues amount across 12 months. You may sign up for this program either online or via the mailed invoice. There is an annual $25 service fee to use the monthly option and that fee is paid in the first month’s installment along with the legislative assessment as applicable. The debit will continue until you notify ASID in writing that you would like it to stop.
