Greetings, families and advocates,

I hope that this correspondence finds all of you well. 

As I am sure you are aware, the Greater New Orleans area, as well as much of our country, is experiencing a significant rise in COVID 19 cases.  As such, I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that our staff members will remain vigilant in their efforts to keep everyone as safe as possible during this time.

We have had minimal cases of COVID 19 because of our staff members’ diligence in following the guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH).  I am very proud of their continued adherence to excellent personal and household sanitation practices.

We continue to monitor all staff members and clients daily for symptoms of COVID -19.

The safety of our clients and staff is our number one concern.  Due to the exponential rise in COVID 19 cases, I am unable to provide a timeline for commencement of family visitation or for the re-opening of our day program.  I understand how difficult the pandemic has been for everyone.  I have been meeting with the Department of Health and other provider agencies on a regular basis to brainstorm and seek guidance.  We do have some policies and options in the works, but as long as the numbers continue to rise, all of our ideas will be on hold.

If you have not already done so, please speak with your case manager about virtual options, such as Facetime, Skype, etc, to keep in touch with your loved one.  If you would like to drop off a care package, you may leave that with our site manager on the main campus and he will make sure that it is promptly delivered.

As always, I truly appreciate your support and faith in us during this difficult time.
