Dear Families and Advocates,
We have been getting many inquiries regarding the re-opening of our day program.  I am unable to give a prospective date at this time; however, I am certain that it we will not be able to re-open on May 1st, and possibly even June 1st. This decision will be made in collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Health, our Board of Directors and our Medical Director, and it will be made with the health and safety of our clients and staff as our top priority.
The decision to reopen is one that we do not take lightly and will not make in haste.  We understand how difficult staying home is on everyone.  We all miss our coworkers and friends.  Over the next few weeks, we will be working on a plan to transition our operations.  We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through this process.  Please be aware that it may take several months before Magnolia is fully operational again.  We will pay close attention to the steps that are taken by other states and our governor as businesses make the transition and will apply the knowledge gained to our own organization.
Although the governor may lift the Stay at Home order on May 1st this does not mean that we will be instantly restored to our pre-pandemic normal way of life.   Rules of social distancing will remain in place.  Rules regarding social gatherings will remain in place.  With 268 day program participants, we must be certain we can safely operate before we can re-open the day program.
We will keep you advised of our operations and plans as we go forward.
Our best to all of you and your families. Please stay safe and stay well.
