Mugenkyo get all Jazzed up with "The World of Gods"
The Mugenkyo collaboration with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra earlier this month was a huge success, and received full standing ovations in Glasgow & Edinburgh, and excellent reviews in the press.
Jazz fans were introduced to the powerful sounds of taiko, and Taiko fans heard taiko as never heard before.
Tommy Smith, director of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, wrote beautiful tunes and new arrangements of traditional Japanese melodies, to fit with our taiko drum pieces. The overall view was that this collaboration was certainly more than a sum of its parts.
We are hoping that the project will be repeated next year, at a range of jazz festivals throughout the UK - watch this space!

Upcoming Dojo Performance at Edinburgh Beltane on 30 April
The Dojo team will be performing at the Edinburgh Beltane Fire Festival on Friday 30th April.
The Beltane Festival derives from the traditional Celtic festival celebrating the coming of Spring.
The taiko performance will take place at 11:50pm at the top of Calton Hill, in front of the Acropolis, at the end of the series of Beltane rituals.
The performers will consist of Dojo members, who all train at the Dojo regularly.
