VOTE / Say "NO" on Prop 1

GET OUT TO VOTE today!  Polls are open until 9PM.  In addition to federal and state candidates, there is an important ballot measure for New Yorkers:  Prop 1.

We recommend "No" to Prop 1.

Gerrymandering plagues our democracy and disenfranchises minority communities. This dramatic change to our state's redistricting process makes a problematic situation worse, by shielding the most culpable behind a veneer of reform.  A commission in which 8 out of 10 are appointed directly by lawmakers can not realistically be independent of their influence.  Read more here on Prop 1, and why all New Yorkers should vote it down.
