Letter from the Director

Lawrence Public Library

Chamber Members,

The Lawrence Public Library is one of 5 county wide libraries in the State of Illinois. Almost all services are FREE to the public. Anyone with a Lawrence County address can receive a free library card.
The library is going through several renovations. Recently the inside of the library received a fresh coat of paint. An elevated lift makes the entire library handicap accessible so that all Lawrence County residents may utilize the tools and resources the library has to offer. In the upcoming weeks, new flooring will be installed and the downstairs bathroom will become handicap accessible.
The library hosts several events throughout the year. The next event the library will have a speaker, Richard Day, Historian, Vincennes State Historic Sites, speaking of the Early Black Settlers of Lawrence County. For a calendar of events held at the Lawrence Public Library visit their website at
Did you know that you can also rent e-books? Do you have a kindle or other e-reading device? The Lawrence Public Library now has access to 2 ebook services. Click here to learn more.

Scholarships 2015

Lawrence County Chamber

With deadlines fast approaching for the Chamber's scholarship, we just want to remind everyone that the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce gives out two $500 scholarships to both Red Hill High School and Lawrenceville High School graduating seniors. Applications are in the guidance offices at both schools.

Deadline for Red Hill is March 15th
Deadline for Lawrenceville is March 14.

PLEASE be sure to have completed materials turned in by the deadline. Also, be sure to encourage Lawrence County graduating seniors to apply for any and all scholarships. There are several scholarships available to seniors! This money has been earmarked by businesses/clubs for our youth and all you have to do is take the time and apply.

We would like to request your continued support of this fifty year old project.  Your contribution will help support many civic programs in Lawrence County.  The Rotary Club will display the American Flags on nine patriotic holidays throughout the year.

10 Reasons to Hire a
Graphic Designer
(and why it matters)
Apple CEO Steve Jobs is reported to have once said, “Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it ‘looks,’ but of course if you dig deeper, it’s really how it ‘works.’” Mr. Jobs is a very wise man. We should all listen to him.

Businesses are always trying to balance keeping costs low and providing the most value to their clients and their brand. But many small businesses have to make choices every day to make sure they're spending every dollar wisely. This
is why we want to let small business owners know why graphic design is one area where a small investment goes a long way.
