Dear Zumberas and Zumberos,
With a heavy heart I have made the decision to close Studio Z Fitness. My lease is up and the owners want to sell the building so the timing was right. Seven years of memories with my wonderful students and awesome instructors will forever be in my heart. This is what will be happening beginning now:
*Classes will continue until Saturday, January 27th
*No more class packages will be sold
*Groupons will have to be redeemed soon
*You have December and January to use up your card
*Once your card has completed, drop in fee of $5 for Cardholders
*Drop in fee for my 24Hr students is $5
***There will be a 2 hour Farewell Class with over 10 instructors helping to celebrate the 7 year run on January 27, 2018 from 9am -11am – This will be a FREE class. I hope my students will come and join in memory lane. This will be very emotional for me but I will cherish every moment. I love my studio and all of the people who have graced it with their presence. But all good things do come to an end. Nikki, Corinna and Myrtle have been wonderful with their current classes. And to the past instructors who have been with me from JBD and transitioned to Studio Z from the beginning and now no longer teach, moved on to motherhood, to other careers, to other endeavors, I’m very proud of them too. I started a new permanent day job and I have new opportunities awaiting me too. Yes, I will still be hosting JAM sessions and other events but at different locations. Things will be posted on Facebook so if you want to continue to learn of events, make sure you friend me on Facebook. The last newsletter for Studio Z will go out January 21st.
December: Open until Wednesday, December 20th. 6:15 class with Myrtle
January: Open until the Last day Saturday, January 27, 2018
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly. Remember there are no refunds and I have been lenient on expiration dates so I’m giving you opportunity to use up your cards. Thanks everyone! So with that said, classes are just as normal and we as instructors are still learning by going to Jam sessions and bringing you the best class possible.
So I am doing something out of my comfort zone. I decided to dance at halftime with the Golden State Warriors Dance Team! Yes, how crazy is that!! On Saturday I had practice at the Warrior’s practice facility in Oakland (Rakuten Performance Center). There will be many age groups dancing. The youngest is age 5-8 then 9-12, 13-16 and 18 and up. Instructor Elle and I decided to join a few months back…Well let me tell you that the average age in our group is 20. As Elle puts it, we are the senior citizens. Haha, we are going to show them! We are dancing to “Drop it Like its Hot”…Yes, Snoop Dogg’s song but its at a faster rate. It’s fast, lots of swag and there is even a deep lunge and then jump up into a twerk!! Yes, swing that hair moves too! Performance date: December 20th. Practice, Practice, Practice…. The facility is beautiful with life size Warriors pictures gracing the walls (not the current team yet).
After my 4 hour session with the Warriors, I attended a Jam session with ZJ Meli Kirkwood on Saturday in Foster City and learned more routines. I will probably bring in 3 of the routines. I already have routines to the other 2 so I’m not going to change those. But it was fun nevertheless. It’s always a treat to keep learning.
Anyways I hope each of you have accomplished your fitness goals for 2017 as it approaches the end. I’m always here for you if you need me. You know my phone number since its plastered everywhere. The month of February I will be cleaning up the studio so you can always come and join me in the evenings or weekend and we can dance and clean!! Everything happens for a reason and this is the break I need to open those new doors awaiting for me. Being a studio owner is not an easy task. One person cannot do it all and I truly appreciate my wonderful Desk Angels who have been so supportive. This too was their home and I love each and every one of you…(Toni, Tammy, Sonia, Kathy, Eva, Karleen, Fabiola, Lauren, Tina) and the ones of the past (Myriam, Janice, Michele, Sneh, Maggie, Blanca, Claudia, Cath). The Instructors I started with at Studio Z (Aggie, Christina, Grace, Gary, Bob, Jose), the ones who came and left (Claudine, Kathy, Eva, Lourdes, Frances) and the subs (Nataylia, Jennifer, Carla, Grace, Mae). If I missed someone, I’m sorry but it’s just hard to write this newsletter filled with so much emotion.
I will see you in class. So I am expecting classes to be full to the end…So let’s just dance together!!!
With love and hugs,
