How is your November treating you? The holiday season is almost upon us and you know we enjoy the holidays. There will be class on Thanksgiving Day! Join all of your Studio Z instructors: Nikki, Corinna, Myrtle and me as we bring you a super fun and sweaty workout! We like to start our Thanksgiving with NEGATIVE calories! This has been our tradition with no class the Wednesday before (everyone is doing their Thanksgiving prep). So throw the Turkey in the oven and dance with us!! More details will come in the next weeks.
There is no Pop Pilates tomorrow or next week.
Party in Pink:
November 11th you can also be a part of breast cancer awareness. I am hosting a Party in Pink at Studio Z From 5:30pm – 7:00, At first we had 3 Zumba Jammers!! Meli, Dorie and Ashley. And now we added another!!! Jony Flores from San Diego will be joining the festivities. There will be raffle prizes to win too! This will be so much fun! These Zumba Jammers will turn up the heat and the energy will be amazing. I hope you can join us. Bring your friends and family. I'm sure we all know someone who is a breast cancer survivor . Let's have fun and dance while donating to cancer research. We've got to find a cure. Friends don't let friends fight this alone!! Wear your PINK proudly!!
On Friday we had a Strong by Zumba Master Class taught by Master Trainer Cheryl Wu Hall. This is not a dance format but more of a bootcamp style workout. It was fun, sweaty and heart pounding. Now I can see why those who take the class regularly have had major changes in their bodies. More muscle, less fat, and they look awesome. I won't lie to you, it was tough but there are modifications for those who don't like burpees. I hung in there and actually enjoy the burn.
On Thursday I went to a BIP fitness concert to support my Zumba family in San Jose. We have routines to many BIP songs. Cumbia Kuduro, Simplemente Amigos, Mesero to name a few. At first I thought I was at the wrong event because I saw a red carpet and people dressed in fancy dresses with sequins and here I am in Zumba black! Oh well, some just decided to fancy it up and dance in heels. I was thrilled that I was asked to go on stage and dance to a BIP routine (I did not practice with the group and they quickly showed me the moves to no song...what?) It was funny because they kept saying don't worry you will figure it out...Ok, Well, thank goodness I knew the song and was able to put the steps together and follow...The best part? I stood next to BIP and danced!!!
I tell you this every year and again I'm repeating it...Wear your jacket or hoodie when you leave class. The fall weather is upon us and it is very cold. Don't let that workout go to waste! Cover up when you leave. I know you are hot and sweaty but all of that heat escapes your body from your head. I know you run to your car that is a short distance away...It doesn't matter, you lose alot of your metabolism in that short walk. Cover up! And let's be sensible about our workout.
