IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY REGISTERED FOR CAEW, PLEASE REGISTER TODAY!
The deadline to register and receive a mailed resource guide and promotional items is October 7th.
CFWV would love to see 100% participation from all WV's schools this year.

West Virginia's 13th annual College Application and Exploration Week will be held across the state from October 31-November 4, 2022.

College Application and Exploration Week is a chance for the entire school community to discuss college options and promote college-going. Schools that are the most successful start small, then add components every year. Often, practices initiated for College Application and Exploration Week become infused within the school culture year-round.

Hundreds of elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, adult education classes, community centers, home school groups, and many other educational community groups across West Virginia participate each year. Additionally, our institutions of higher education often support this initiative in a variety of ways.

To be recognized as an official participant, schools and community organizations must register.  Schools that register before October 7 will receive a FREE toolkit.  Additional lessons, resources, and information will be provided via email and online.

NEW THIS YEAR:

1. An Online College-Going Culture Assessment Survey: This assessment tool can help you evaluate your school community's level of maturity when it comes to developing a strong college-going culture. There are no official scores. However, this information will help WVHEPC follow regional and county data trends. You may find the survey within the registration, the toolkit, and here:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CGCAssessment

2.  College Fair Applications:  Site Coordinators who are overseeing SENIORS in high school, please keep track of the applications submitted during your college fairs. These numbers can be counted toward your yearly total.

3.  Multi-School Level Responsibility Registration:  If you are responsible for multiple groups of students, please register each group individually.  For example, if your school is a K-8 school, please register for both elementary and middle school.

College-Going Culture Assessment

IF YOU HAVEN'T TAKEN THE COLLEGE-GOING CULTURE ASSESSMENT, PLEASE DO. THIS IS A NEW REQUIREMENT FOR THIS YEAR'S CAEW.

This assessment tool can help you evaluate your school community's level of maturity when it comes to developing a strong college-going culture. There are no official "grades" or "scores." However, WVHEPC will be using the information to track regional and county data trends. Your help is very much appreciated.

If you find that you are scoring your school community lower in some areas, this may be a good area on which to focus. To ensure a strong foundation, start at the lowest level of the Change Maker's Pyramid (as seen above) you feel is applicable for your school.
