Thank You to Our Grantors!

This week, we celebrate the grantors large & small, local & national, foundations & service groups, businesses & governments, who support our mission to grow healthy food, people, & community. Their funding enables us to innovate while keeping our tried-and-true programs vibrant.

  • Gateway Rotary of Thurston County helped us pilot the use of biochar on our youth farms.
  • Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation, Olympia Federal Savings, & the Mannix Canby, Medina, Peg & Rick Young, Stars, Clif Bar, Norcliffe, Elizabeth Lynn, & Satterberg Foundations gave to our general operations, strengthening our “deep roots” & giving us the flexibility to invest where we needed it most.
  • Zonta Club of Olympia enabled us to pilot a new model of program leadership called the Vircle, where gardeners & veterans come together to direct the future of the Victory Garden Project.
  • The Ben B. Cheney & Freas Foundations paid for us to create a new, accessible, mobile-friendly website. (Coming soon!)
  • WA Parks & Recreation, Simply Organic, Lacey Rotary, United Way’s Community Investment Partnership, US Dept of Agriculture, City of Tumwater, & Russell Family Foundation helped grow GRuB in the schools.
  • Intercity Transit helped our youth get to & from programs.
  • Olympia Kiwanis & Les Dames d’Escoffiers Seattle helped us grow our programming for younger kids.
  • Northwest Horticultural Society, Lucky Seven Foundation, Community Foundation of South Puget Sound, Taco Time Northwest, Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund, & Cities of Lacey & Tumwater helped us build 64 gardens in Thurston County while finding a new Victory Farm site.
We are truly grateful for these infusions of strength & support!
An Invitation to Join Our Work
There are many ways to get involved in GRuB’s work—from becoming a Youth Crew Member to helping build backyard gardens to buying produce from our Farm Stand—to name just a few. Another important way to get involved is by making a financial gift.

We're trying to raise $40,000 in donations from our community members before January 1st. Right now, we’ve raised nearly a quarter of our goal and have about $30,000 more to go. Would you help us reach our goal? Truly, no donation is too small. We welcome gifts of any size. All donations made by Dec. 31st  are tax deductible for 2017!

Thank you for considering joining our work through an end-of-year gift! We’ll put your money to good work by growing healthy food, people, & community.
Victory Garden Project Voices
Some heartfelt words from people who received GRuB gardens this year.
"I just wanted to thank you for all you do. Not only do you help us get started but provide inspiration for us to continue. Since I'm disabled I would have given up on gardening. You showed me a way I could still do it. Thank you."
“Gardening has brought our family closer! Be it cooking with the fresh food or spending time watering it & taking care of it. We spend more time together!”

“The garden is beautiful, & I felt really empowered by the process of building, planting, & now harvesting. It has been sweet to share our abundant produce with friends & family & to have outdoor time with my baby in the garden. I felt like I had something new & beautiful to offer. It's also saved us significant money. I learned a lot just through the process of DOING.”

Thank you GRuB Community for supporting our work & making all this possible! Donate to our end of the year campaign, HERE!
