Effluent Pond Level Monitoring
Harvest can supply a pressure sensor for effluent pond level monitoring. This can be hardwired to an existing Harvest base station or wireless remote onsite. Also, for our Synlait "Lead with Pride" suppliers, you will now probably be aware that there is a requirement for effluent pond level monitoring (effective 01/06/20). Contact us for more information about monitoring your effluent pond level.
Meet The Team - Tech Support
Jay was born and bred in Zimbabwe: "I grew up on a 9000 hectare cattle ranch. My childhood was a riot of horses, cattle, dogs, guns, tractors, Land Rovers and hungry wild animals. My electrical career began as an Instrument Technician on the gold mines of South Africa, which was followed by a couple of years on the Makgadikgadi salt pans of Botswana in a mineral processing plant.

Working in Technical Support for Endress+Hauser, I travelled the length and breadth of Africa to factories in Nigeria, Namibia, Angola, Malawi, Kenya, Mozambique and the Zambian copper belt mines. Thereafter I spent several years maintaining the instrumentation on the generators and coal fired boilers of the only privately owned power station in Johannesburg. On to Yokogawa and Siemens, where I facilitated training courses for engineers and technicians on instrumentation, automation, control, VSD and PLC programming. After which I contracted for two years on a gas processing plant in Saudi Arabia.

Whist visiting my sister in Masterton, I met Peter Munn and joined Harvest in the Technical Support Team. Given my electrical experience, I now concentrate on all things electrical that connect to the Harvest equipment: flow meters, sensors, PLC’s, KiwiRail crossing monitors, etc. I find working at Harvest fulfilling, as I see the equipment manufactured, work with the installers and fix problems if they arise. I enjoy fixing and making machines work, especially that domino effect when one machine talks to the next machine. If it's electrical, mechanical or hydraulic, you will find me somewhere there.

Married with two children, as a family we enjoy the NZ outdoors, exploring and seeing all the differences in the land. I have an interest in electric cars, which is rubbing off on the children and I am keen to experience NZ hunting compared to the wilds of Africa." - Jay King
Harvest Ultrasonic Wind Sensor
The Harvest Ultrasonic Wind Sensor (HUW) is a lightweight and robust ultrasonic wind speed/direction sensor. It can be used in locations with high winds or harsh weather conditions, as there are no moving parts to wear out over time and the monitoring technology eliminates the need for re-calibration onsite. It can be connected to an ITU G2 or ITU Mini base station.

"Now that we have been running the system for several months, we are so confident in it’s ability to switch off if there is a issue, that we can run the irrigator at night when the conditions are right. I can also monitor the system on the laptop or phone and turn it off remotely if for instance we get an unexpected shower of rain."
