Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for being on this Elicit journey with us. Research can be really hard. The fact that you’re willing to spend some of your time with us is amazing, and if we can make your research experience even a little bit more magical, that makes our work worth it!

A few weeks ago, we asked for your feedback on Elicit. ~600 people shared their thoughts with us.

Here are some of our takeaways:

  1. Elicit saves researchers an average of 1.4 hours per week. That’s more than 10,000 research hours saved per week across all our users.

  2. 50% of users said that they'd be “Very disappointed” if they couldn’t keep using Elicit. This is slowly increasing over time (in Q2 of this year, it was 46%).

  1. Two thirds of our users are using Elicit to learn about new topics, and one third are using it to dive deep on topics they're already experts in.
  2. Some of peoples' favorite things about Elicit are:

    1. Elicit helps you find papers you wouldn’t have found using other tools

    2. Elicit helps you narrow down or adjust your research direction

    3. Elicit gives you quick overviews of topics

  3. Some of the most common requests for how we can improve Elicit are:

    1. Expand the database of papers (more academic subject domains, other types of documents like policy articles, more recent papers, papers in more languages, etc)

    2. Help you trust Elicit’s answers more

    3. Help you organize your work (e.g. saving papers, saving sessions)

These surveys are a really important input into our product roadmap. Based on your feedback, we’re working on a new version of Elicit that can support many different workflows (like "Search policy documents", "Get counter-evidence", or "Find review papers"), and helps you organize your papers and learnings.

Here’s a sneak preview:

Thank you for all your support and feedback. Have a wonderful break!

Thanks,
Amanda
