I'm just writing this... I won't get fined. All week people have been talking non-stop about #Beastmode.

This is Issue no. 05

Today’s Big Game (TM) will be on everyone’s big screen, but increasingly people will use their secondary screen to engage with their friends and comment in real time on what is happening. Saw that commercial too? Yeah, I thought it was lame as well.
This connection is arguable is the most fascinating aspect of big global sporting events. Millions of people are experiencing what is unfolding in front of their eyes, live in real time. There’s uncertainty, yet no real tragedy involved. Right, fans. NO REAL TRAGEDY. It’s just a ball on a field.
It’s positive, it’s exciting. It connects people. And it helps us, for a moment, feel like we are all one big global family.

• This week, Canadian ice climbers Will Gadd and Sarah Hueniken became the first to climb Niagara Falls.

• • •

• An automatically generated poem of my past tweets.

• • •

• Charles Smith wins 'Winemaker of the Year'. Well deserved.

• Last night Reinhold Messner spoke at the Annual Benefit Dinner for the American Alpine Club. Tomorrow, Monday evening he will be speaking in Seattle and I will be there. Super excited to see THE mountaineer of our generation live.

PS: If you haven't already, I invite you to download my 'annual report' JOURNAL2014. It's great.

PPS: I regards to this week's subject line: yesterday I made some ramen, and it was very tasty.

PPS: Go Seahawks!
Even my daughter is in the spirit, as the picture below shows.
