  • The library will be closed December 31-January 1 for New Year's.

Give the gift of literacy this holiday season!
We are now accepting new and gift quality infant-teen books. We've partnered with Active Faith to ensure each book finds a good home. This effort is spearheaded by our Friends Club, a group of young kids who volunteer their time for the library and help with fundraising efforts.

November 6-12 ONLY
Do you have a fine for not returning an item on time? We're offering an opportunity for you to erase up to $10 of those fines by giving back to the community. All canned goods must be non-expired food products.
How does it work?
1 canned good = $1.00, bring up to 10 canned goods and we'll remove your equivalent fines. Ex. Have a $7 fine? Bring 7 canned goods to remove it.
1. If you've been sent to a Collection agency, the collection fee can not be removed by this program.
2. We can not remove fines from another library, so if you've borrowed items from other libraries and have fines, those won't be removed.
3. There is a $10 maximum for removal.
4. Only one $10 removal per card for the whole week.

Have you noticed the new metal butterfly in the front garden bed? This piece of art was installed to honor former Library Director, Doreen Hannon and her 20+ years at SSLDL. The library board named the gardens The Doreen S. Hannon Reading Gardens and we had this butterfly made by local metal artist Will Cooper. The butterfly was then painted by Doreen's daughter Emilie Beadle.

The Friends Book Room, located just inside the library entrance to the left, is a place where you can find terrific deals on all kinds of books, music and movies—and each purchase you make goes toward supporting the library!

Upcoming Sale Dates:

Make sure to tell us your name, branch of military and years served as well. Thank you to all those who have served and are currently serving.
