Start of Construction Notice - Manitowoc Road Construction Project

The Manitowoc Road Construction project is scheduled to begin on July 6th, 2021. The contractor for the project has issued a Start of Construction Notice. The full content in the notice can be viewed below or using the Start of Construction Notice link.

July 1, 2021

RE:     V Bellevue, Manitowoc Road

Allouez Avenue – Kewaunee Road

Brown County, Wisconsin

To: Businesses & Residents

Vinton Construction Company is going to start the construction work on Manitowoc Road from Allouez Avenue to Kewaunee Road beginning July 6, 2021, with a tentative completion date of mid to late October 2021.

On July 6th,the road will be closed, and the existing asphalt will be pulverized in place.  We anticipate starting concrete removals on July 6th or 7th beginning at Allouez Ave and heading towards STH 29 (Kewaunee Rd).  You will always have access to your driveway except when there is removal work being performed directly through your driveway.  When the existing curb and gutter and driveway apron is removed it is anticipated that you will not have access for approximately 1 hour.  After removal is complete we will temporarily ramp the driveway with gravel for use.  This removal operation will be completed for all residents along Manitowoc Road.  Once the storm sewer connections to existing is complete, the placement of the new concrete curb and gutter via machine paving will begin.  At this point, once the paver goes through your driveway you will not have access until the concrete gains enough strength to be driven on.  We will coordinate all operations with residents and provide prior notifications as construction progresses.

The Wisconsin DOT staff has marked the limits of sawing and removal of your driveways in pink or orange paint.  Anything (vehicles, campers, trailers, etc.) that is in the way of the saw cutting and removal operations needs to be moved prior to July 6th.  Vinton will be calling diggers hotline to locate all public utilities.  They will not locate any private utilities i.e. sprinkler systems, dog fences, etc.  If you have any of these private utilities that you wish to save, they need to be located and moved otherwise they will likely be damaged.  Mailboxes should also be removed prior to July 6th.  The Village will be placing Temporary Mailboxes for your use during construction – a layout of temporary locations will be distributed.

We would like to sincerely apologize in advance for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience and cooperation during construction.  Please call Evan or me with any questions or concerns.

Thank You,

Dean Friedman           Vinton             920-973-9832

Jeff Zlatohlavek          Vinton             920-323-8356
