The Great Hall
 
Toronto, ON – THE COLLECTIONS™ presents RE\SET on February 6 and 7, 2017. Held over two nights, RE\SET will feature a curated group of Canadian designers at the recently restored historic Toronto venue, The Great Hall (1087 Queen Street West). 
 
RE\SET introduces a new conversation about the arts to celebrate the work of designers. THE COLLECTIONS™, in collaboration with Robin Kay, will present three main objectives at the February fashion event:
  • RE\SET the schedule to allow designers to connect with buyers, media and consumers to promote a flexible model that allows brands to offer season-less and “see now, buy now” collections.
  • RE\FORM tradition, taking the designer presentation model in a fresh direction through engaging experiences with static and showroom models.
  • RE\THINK Canada’s fashion identity while building unique content to inspire the national and global awareness of fashion in the country.
With a refreshed perspective, we’re excited to present an influential group of Canadian designers,” said THE COLLECTIONS™. “RE\SET will be instrumental in activating current designer demands while engaging with the creative community to push existing boundaries.”
 
Notable designers include: Vogue’s Designer to Watch and DHL Exported winner, Sid Neigum; Forbes’ 2017 Art and Style ‘30 Under 30’ design duo, Beaufille; Toronto-based duo, Markoo; contemporary womenswear Hilary Macmillan; signature avant-garde brand, Pedram Karimi; satirical contemporary street brand WRKDEPT, and menswear lines Thomas Bálint and Klaxon Howl. RE\SET will also present a two-day showroom featuring RTW designers Namesake, Tara Rivas for TMR, S.P. Badu, Triarchy, accessory designers Dean Davidson, Krane, Cuchara, Dolorous, Uncuffed Leather, and shoes by Zvelle.
 
We need to reinvent and we hope RE\SET will be the catalyst for this change. This event represents the evolution of our 150-year-old industry and the immense talent pool in Canada," said Robin Kay, President of the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC). "My mission is to have the federal government finally recognize our designers within the current description of the creative cluster and, in doing so, clearly identify our industry as a pillar of commerce and culture in Canada.”
 
RE\SET is inspired by the following like-minded production partners who thrive on supporting local initiatives and building the community together: The Great Hall and Rob Dittmer of Three Event Planning and Design. Fashion and lifestyle guru Barb Atkin, along with her partners Clarence Ford, Nadav Elituv and Michael Seven of ONeXCHANGE, a new innovative entertainment platform that brings people together to create positive energy.
