In response the nominees had the following to say:
Keira Knightley - "I felt so lucky to have portrayed Joan Clarke, such an extraordinary woman who defied convention and was part of a moment in history. Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign press for this honour, and for recognizing our film. I can't wait to celebrate with everyone."
Graham Moore - "It's an honour and the thrill of a lifetime to be recognized by the HFPA for being a part of bringing this little-known true story to the screen. Through this amazing recognition the HFPA has helped us to shine a little more light on the important and powerful legacy of Alan Turing, and for that I could not be more grateful."
The Imitation Game opens in Toronto, exclusively at the Varsity Theatre (55 Bloor St. W.) tomorrow, December 12. Opening in Vancouver, Montreal and expanding in Toronto on December 19, across Canada on December 25 and everywhere on January 9.
A Most Violent Year opens in Canada on January 30.
Nightcrawler is currently in theatres.
