Choosing a loan repayment plan
If your student is graduating and borrowed any federal loans, you should talk to them about a loan repayment plan. Here are the next steps:
1. Know the balance of the loan
2. Sign up online with the Loan Servicer (the company that handles the billing and other services on your federal student loan)
3. Choose the right repayment plan
4. Keep in touch with the financial aid office and student loan servicer
5. If you get stuck, contact FIU's Default Prevention team at defmgmt@fiu.edu
