Nomination Deadline Approaches

The deadline for submitting nominations for volunteer positions in the Hawai'i Conference United Church of Christ is this Friday, March 1.  Forms and position descriptions were sent out to churches in January. Nominees for all positions will be elected at the 'Aha Pae'aina in June and begin on July 1.  Forms may also be downloaded by clicking HERE.

Apply for Neighbors in Need Grants

Neighbors in Need (NIN) provides funding for church programs that address issues of injustice. Grants of up to $3,000 each are available to UCC churches and organizations. Funding comes from the NIN special mission offering received each year on World Communion Sunday. Deadline to apply is March 31. Click HERE for more information and grant application.

Kaua'i Association Announces Spring Meeting

The 'Aha Mokupuni of the Kaua'i Association is scheduled for May 3-4 at Koloa Union Church. Details will be sent to Association churches.


Gift Certificate Winners

Lucky winners of the UCC Yearbook drawing are First Chinese Church of Christ, Hanapepe Hawaiian, Pookela, Waialua UCC, and Wananalua churches!  Congratulations to these five churches, which were among the 47 churches that submitted UCC Yearbook forms by the February 22 deadline.  Each church will receive a $50 gift certificate to some place good!  If you haven’t already turned in your forms, please do so immediately. Keawala'i Hosts Annual Lu'au

Keawala'i Congregational Church in Makena, Maui, will hold its annual lu'au on Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Click HERE for information on buying tickets.

Easter Sunrise Service at Punchbowl

The Hawai'i Council of Churches, including the Hawai'i Conference UCC, will sponsor the 112th Easter Sunrise Service at the National Memorial of the Pacific at Punchbowl.  This annual service begins at 6:15 a.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31. Guest preacher is Randolph Sykes, Orthodox Bishop of Hawai'i of the Inclusive Orthodox Church.

Student Presents Kalaupapa Workshop

Welina Tong, member of Ola'a First Hawaiian Church and senior at Kamehameha Schools Hawai'i, will lead a workshop, “Listening to Kalaupapa,” as her Senior Legacy project.  The workshop will be held on March 7 at William Charles Lunalilo Center at the Hawai'i Campus (16-714 Volcano Road, Kea'au).  Click HERE to see the flyer.
