Climate Change and the UCC

A recent article in the Yale Forum on Climate Change & the Media describes the history and role of the United Church of Christ on environmental justice and eco-justice issues, and the positions adopted by the UCC. King Kamehameha Day Craft Fair

The King Kamehameha Day Craft Fair & White Elephant Sale will be held at Kawaiaha'o Church (957 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu) on Saturday, June 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This annual event features crafts made by local artisans and crafters, White Elephant sale, and food booths. Miguel Asuncion, Administrator of Central Union Church, has been selected to be a proxy at the UCC Pension Boards 2012 Annual Meeting to be held June 8 in Cleveland.

Former Hawai'i Pastor to Receive Honorary Degree

Chuck Blaisdell, former Pastor of Hilo Coast UCC, will receive an honorary degree from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the school’s 2012 Baccalaureate & Commencement Events on May 12.

GRAMMY Board Elects Conference Staffperson

Ken Makuakane, Hawai'i Conference Program Associate, was elected to the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the organization that puts on the annual GRAMMY Awards, among other great things.  The national academy is ruled by the 12 chapters.
