Clergy Invited to Sign Anti-Gambling Letter

Faith Action for Community Equity (FACE) invites faith leaders to sign on to a letter to the Hawai'i State legislators in opposition to the legalization of gambling.  The letter, among other things, cites the negative effects on family and community bonds.  Click HERE for a copy of the letter.  Sign on before the February 12 deadline by contacting UCC minister John Heidel at or calling him at 808-261-4585.

Eco-Justice from Lent through Eastertide

  • Carbon Fast for Lent: Sign up to receive an email message each day of Lent, beginning February 13, Ash Wednesday, suggesting an activity that can reduce the amount of carbon put into the air. Daily emails will continue through Easter Sunday, March 31. Click HERE to find out more and to sign up.
  • Mission 4/1 Earth: Beginning on Easter Monday, April 1, and continuing throughout the fifty days of Eastertide, United Church of Christ members will carry out a mission campaign for eco-justice.  For more information about the various activities planned, click HERE.

Webinar Addresses Teen Dating Violence

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and FaithTrust Institute offers various resources and webinars on this important topic. On February 12, 9 a.m., Elizabeth Dilley, UCC national staff member, will lead a free webinar on the benefits and risks of social media in the context of teen dating violence awareness and prevention.
