Be a Volunteer in the New Year
- On April 25, 2015, a powerful 7.8 earthquake in Nepal took the lives of over 9,000 people. Hundreds of aftershocks followed, some stronger than 7.0, and hundreds of thousands of homes were destroyed. UCC Disaster Ministries is partnering with the Fuller Center to build earthquake resistant homes. To volunteer for this effort, visit www.fullercenter.org/global-builders/nepal.
- Several opportunities to rebuild homes in the U.S. are coordinated through UCC Disaster Ministries. Many locations have UCC long-term volunteer leaders and tools in place to help make the volunteer experience more productive, enjoyable and organized.
Trip Highlights UCC and Disciples Work in Middle East
A Middle East Educational Trip is being organized to highlight the work being done through One Great Hour of Sharing (United Church of Christ) and Week of Compassion (Christian Church, Disciples of Christ) offerings. Space will be limited, so register now for this trip, which will take place September 25 to October 7, 2016.

Annual Event Commemorates Queen’s Efforts
The 24th Annual Hookuikahi will commemorate Queen Lili'uokalani and her efforts toward justice, nonviolence and reconciliation. Spaghetti and Auction Raise Funds for O'ahu Youth
As part of its fundraising efforts for the 2016 National Youth Event (July 26-29, 2016), the O'ahu Association will hold a spaghetti dinner and silent auction fundraiser, “Love is…,” on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Community Church of Honolulu (2345 Nu'uanu Avenue, Honolulu).
